By the young age of 38, Robert Brooks was a single dad of two after losing his wife to leukaemia. With his own business failing and life savings poured into his late wife’s medical fees, he had to find ways to make ends meet.
However, without any proper qualifications, his options were limited so he resorted to the ride-hailing app, Lyft as a source of income. With very little money to spare, he was forced to borrow $10,000 from family and friends to buy a car and went on to be a Lyft driver.
Robert started off by driving for 10 hours a day but realizing that it wasn’t enough to support his family, he drove up to 16 hours just to get by. Over time, he gained plenty of good reviews entitling him for Lyft incentives. With the extra hours put in, he was finally making decent money, enough to financially support his family.
